It works more on a combination between a module system, and a drag and drop system. This directly allows more control over important design choices that you might want to make but couldn’t with other platforms.

Sitebuilder offers no free trial, and does not allow you to make any free websites. So if you are looking for a free website tool, you’ll have to keep searching (as mentioned however their prices are very cheap).

Another major benefit of Sitebuilder is that they provide you with a free custom domain when you join. This is always a good feature to have, as most small businesses and bloggers need a unique and professional domain for their clients and readers to find.

ConstantContact takes the automatic website builder and pushes it harder towards reaching audiences.

Their automatic setup will do all the SEO and most of the design work for you. Coming from a marketing background they have some expertise in providing a customer acquisition based website structure.

ConstantContact also offers a lot of additional utilities that aren’t usually in the box with other website builders.

One of these tools is a huge free image gallery. They have partnered with Unsplash to provide around 60,000 stock images that you can use for free on your website with them.

Another one of these quirky tools is a logo maker! ConstantContact allows you to make your website for free and also offers 2 reassembly priced premium tiers (10$ a month and 20$ a month).

One of the major downsides for anyone looking to build an online store, they only allow you to list 3 items in your catalog for free (10 for the first paid tier, and unlimited on the last one).

They also charge 3% on every tier but the top. They aren’t exactly the top in the industry in website making, but a little out of the box never hurt.

They allow the use of your own custom domain if you already have one, and are designed to automatically create the mobile version of your website to be mobile friendly.

This streamlined system means that you can quickly switch the template of your website.

The difference between this and other websites?

Switching your template will carry over all the work you put into it. This allows you to change the entire design of the website with little to no effort required.

Change is something that Sidengo focuses on, with templates as well as new features being added.

Sidengo does not currently support eCommerce integration, at least from their own service. So you will have to find that elsewhere.

Sidengo allows you to build your website for free, then when you are ready you can upgrade your account to publish it.

Their prices are relatively fair, at around 10$ a month. While not the most unique of a website builder, it is growing and expanding new features daily.

Simbla is not made for those faint of heart. If you have coding experience and know-how the knitty gritty of website design works, Simbla provides you with the metaphorical playground of features.

They do have a drag and drop’ style website editor, but that is not where this platform thrives. This platform thrives when you combine your business’ various databases integrated into your website.

Conveniently housing your customers’ information, or tracking sales, you can make the most of Simbla’s robust infrastructure.

Simbla also includes a great app marketplace. If there is something you need you can likely find it there from their community.

However, a large plus that comes with Imcreator is that it has a very robust and completely free eCommerce platform.

Ucraft allows you to create a website for free, and it is pretty standard in this department. Scrolling through their impressive list of features (including minor but still important features like multilingual support), it is clear to see you will get a bang for your buck.

Ucraft won’t break the bank either. Their lowest pricing starts at 10$ a month and includes the majority of features that are standard across the rest of the pricing tiers.

The highest cost is around 39$ a month, mainly adding unlimited ecommerce product listings, and 10GB of data per product featured (this is a lot).

Ucraft’s API is also fairly beautiful so bonus points for that. Ucraft is also one of the few listings to also include other products like a logo maker and marketing tools.

While they may not be the best platform out there at the moment, definitely keep an eye on Ucraft.

They provide a good API with a nice looking and responsive interface. It is easy to use, so if you are a busy person who needs a website, or a small business that can’t afford a huge time investment Jigsy is an option.

Jigsy is also a completely online platform like most of those here on our list, but they are firmly committed to this idea. Being able to edit your website anytime and quickly is a core value to them.

Looking at the pricing it is also one of the cheapest options out there.

It starts at 4$ a month, including most of the aspects needed to build a complete website (including the ever-important custom domain).

The highest price choice is 10$ a month and this comes with their award-winning premium customer support.

Jigsy is very support focused. So you can be sure if you pick them you will have the connections to get things working right the second they start to go sideways.

A cool little feature we noticed was the ability to easily create photo galleries with the drop of an image. This feature is sure to peak the interests of photographers needing a portfolio website.

Another feature that they have to improve the visuals is a universal grid. You can use this grid to make sure your page has visual consistency.

Another benefit of uKit means that you are provided with unlimited images, pages, and even traffic.

Looking at the pricing of the different plans they provide, they are fairly generous. Plans starting at 5$ a month you get the normal set of tools.

They will not provide you with a domain, but if you already have one you can link it.

One feature that Webself included that we noticed at first glance was 24/7 free support, with no limitations. You won’t only get good service if you pay more, which is good for small businesses who don’t always have the time to spend troubleshooting problems.

Webself also focused on a Google-friendly’ approach this essentially means that they have integrated Google Analytics. This allows their clients to better manage their SEO, and track the success of certain plans or keywords.

Taking into consideration pricing which begins at 6.95$ a month, you don’t get a whole lot of data. They limit you to 2GB of total disk space, and 2GB maximum in bandwidth.

This means that unless you are paying for the higher tiers you are likely not going to have enough space for day to day businesses.

PageCloud also boasts an impressive number of integrations. For a smaller platform, they have nearly as many as Wix and Yola at over 100 different app connections. These even include apps like Spotify and Instagram feed connections.

PageCloud also emphasizes the fact that you can collaborate with your other team members with the basic version of PageCloud.

A pro of this platform is their drag and drop system seems to be a lot more complex than some of the other choices we put in this list.

This allows for expanded customizability. SnapPages is focused on blogging primarily, as they have a large suite of tools that bloggers would find useful.

Some of these tools include built in commenting functionality, advertisement injection points, and indexing.

One big con of this site is that they don’t offer any ecommerce tools, so you will have to look elsewhere for designing a perfect webstore.

SnapPages handily includes a form creator in their website platform so you can gather information much more easily without needing a third party service.

Starting at 12$ month their price range is fairly average. A big let down is that they don’t let you design your website for free.

You have to use a free trail or simply pay a subscription to design your website. SnapPages also focuses on a new branch of website design theory, which means that individual pages are going to be longer to reduce the amount of pages needed.

The Winner?

Looking over this vast list of website builders and platforms for designing a website, and factoring in our different measurements, we believe that Wix appears to be the best option.

Wix includes most of the features for free with the greatest range of customizability combined with simplicity.

Their prices are fairly standard and when you factor in the fact that Wix isn’t going anywhere, the brand Wix is just a better cart to attach your cart to.

Wix just has more useful features overall than the other platforms and for that reason alone it rises above the other options.

Creating a website can be a hard thing. When you are looking for a stable, customizable, and powerful platform there are many choices out there.

Some businesses may be enticed into hiring a web developer, this is not always the best option. Hiring help can be very expensive and doesn’t exactly guarantee a website you will be happy and proud of.
