Sometimes we need to change the password of our Wi-Fi router. Whether you forget the password or want to give a new fancy wi-fi password you will need to do it on the router.
How you are going to change the password on a router without a keyboard or screen touch feature?
Well, it’s not the router but you have to connect it with your laptop or mobile device to change the password. In the following steps, you will learn how you can change the password of your wifi router.
First thing first, make sure your router is switched on.
Now connect your router with your PC or laptop via an Ethernet cable or wi-fi. (Mostly the router has the password inside the device where you can access or some new routers come without any password.)
Now you need to type the gateway address of your router into your web browser. Some popular addresses are 192.168.0.1, 192.168.1.1, 192.168.2.1, or 10.0.1.1 for Apple or 10.0.0.1 for Xfinity.
192.168.0.1 works very well with most of the routers. Now after the IP address hit enter to get the router login menu.

Now login with your username “admin” & password (your current wifi password) or any specific password that you have set previously.
Click on login to access the router control panel.
On the left menu select “wireless” and click on “wireless security” to access wifi security options.

Scroll down below and find the “pre-shared key” option which is the password of your wifi router.
Type your new password in the textbox and click on the apply button below to activate that password as your current router password.

Conclusion:
For different routers, the admin panel can be different but the options are pretty much the same. All the control related to wifi will be available under the wireless section of the admin panel.
